MUSTANG MEMORIES
memories

A brief, informal ceremony on the Oakdale High School campus on Friday morning, April 30 paid homage to the late Dr. Lynn C. Burroughs, a longtime sideline physician for the OHS football program. Doc Burroughs passed away in late March at the age of 75; he spent 28 years as the sideline physician for the Mustangs. John Brunk, center, presented the plaque in the lobby of the school gym to head football coach Trent Merzon, left, and athletic director Dave Bacigalupi. “I did it because I think it’s warranted,” Brunk said. The plaque will be displayed in a trophy case and Brunk said that the last line on the dedication “tells it like it is”; thanking ‘Doc’ for his “giving spirit and being an asset to our community”.
