Morning Market hosts OHS ‘essentials drive’
essentials

The Oakdale Morning Market is partnering with Oakdale High School to collect essential items for students through its “Fill the Shelf” campaign. Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the downtown market on North Third Avenue.

The drive will stock a supply shelf of everyday items that students can take “free of charge and with dignity,” organizers said. It coincides with students returning to school this week.

Requested donations include shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, body wash and face wash, period products, socks, lip balm, notebooks, pens, pencils, backpacks, hair ties, brushes and sunscreen.

Financial contributions are also accepted at loveourcities.givingfuel.com/oakdale-morning-market.

Those who donate five items or $5 will receive $5 in Market Bucks to spend with any vendor at the Oakdale Morning Market.
