Notes, candles, stuffed animals and more have been placed as a makeshift memorial near the scene of a weekend incident that claimed the lives of two Oakdale teen girls. The two, ages 15 and 17, died as a result of what police called a “tragic case of double suicide” with the bodies located along a Stanislaus River trail off Hollenbeck Court in Oakdale on Saturday morning, April 11. Police received a call from a man who found the victims; an investigation revealed the girls – students at Oakdale High School – died as a result of small caliber gunshot wounds.
