Stanislaus Community Foundation (SCF) recently announced that its President/CEO, Marian Kaanon, has been appointed as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the League of California Community Foundations (LCCF). Established in 1994, the LCCF is a statewide organization dedicated to strengthening the state’s 40+ community foundations.

Kaanon initially joined the Board as Secretary in 2024 and served as Vice President in 2025. As Board Chair, she will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of LCCF and advancing the League’s work in three key areas: Disaster Resilience, Housing, and Local News & Journalism.

“I am honored to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors for LCCF,” said Kaanon. “It’s an incredible network of organizations that spans the entire geography of our great state, and each member community foundation is doing unique work to build their respective communities.”

Kaanon will serve as Chair for two years. Laura Seaman, CEO of the League of California Community Foundations, shared, “We are excited to welcome Marian as the Chair of the LCCF Board. She is a longtime active member of the League’s CEO network and her dynamic and creative leadership will be invaluable at the League as we support our statewide coalition of community foundations to drive change at both local and state levels.”
