Sunday night thieves broke in to the outside post office boxes and stole some mail before they were chased off. Be on the lookout.

Miller’s Hall is sporting new gutters. Now the annual clogging with leaves will be a thing of the past!

The new paint job on the 50’s Roadhouse gives it a fresh look.

The other night the scanner, mentioning a fire in the Ferry, woke your reporter. I got on my robe and slippers and drove to Frymire Road overlook and indeed there were flames and smoke. It burned about two and one half acres up from the covered bridge. The fireman said it was man made and started in three places. Thank goodness the fire station was manned, as it could have been a terrible fire. Let’s keep our firefighters in the Ferry!

The Martinelli family has returned from Oklahoma where Bill was inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Bill and Kay’s daughters all attended, Tasha Sweet, Megan Peterson, Mickie Martinelli and Angie Studer (from Switzerland). Grandchildren attending were Logan Martinelli, Pete, Jake and Luke Studer. It was a moving ceremony. The girls stayed with Mickie at her Oklahoma home for a few days and had a great time!

There was a very large turnout at the Knights Ferry School Board meeting. At last week’s closed session the Board did not renew the contract of Cheryl Griffith, Superintendent/Principal so at this meeting many spoke asking why and that Cheryl was doing a good job. The Board said they couldn’t discuss personnel issues.

Carol Davis celebrated her 80th birthday with a luncheon at the Oakdale Country Club put on by her children, Bruce Davis and Denise Ray. Her six grandchildren were able to attend to help celebrate.

Knights Ferry School will be playing Valley Home in volleyball and football in the Ferry on October 24th.
