Amy Simons and daughter Elissa spent their Easter vacation in France. Elissa had always wanted to go there and the time was right. They spent time in Paris doing all the “tourist” things, went to Rouen where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, went to the beaches of Normandy where the cemetery has 9000 soldiers buried and France turned it over to the United States. They also went to Mont. St. Michel and toured the Loire Valley where they saw many Chateaus. It was a wonderful trip.

A big thank you goes out to Bill Carr for power washing the porch of Millers Hall and oiling it before Peddler’s Faire. He said sometimes you have to give back to your community! What a spirit!

Gordon and Michel Griesner got their first rattlesnake of the year by their deck and Charlie Mynatt’s dog was bitten on the nose by a rattler. Watch for them!

Welcome to the world Cadan Lee McCormack adopted by Savannah (Lamb) and Jake. He was born on April 26th and weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. Proud grandparents are Rex and Julie Beth Lamb, former Knights Ferry residents.

Phil and Carmen Frymire had their grandchildren home for Easter. Justin Paulat came from Arizona, Danielle Frymire came from Iowa and Jessica Paulat came from the bay area.

At the MAC meeting last Thursday Ron Berry, Operations Supervisor for Tri Dam, did a very interesting presentation on the Emergency Operation and dam safety. Tulloch Dam is a high hazard dam because Knights Ferry is just 6.2 miles downstream. He detailed the emergency action plan, along with Gary Hinshaw from OES. They explained the Federal and State requirements for dam safety and the constant monitoring of the dams. He will be back next year, maybe at a larger meeting. Also discussed was the fact that the coming of Broadband to Knights Ferry (the wires have been laid) cannot be finished because the telephone building needs to be upgraded and there is no money. Maybe they should have looked into the building before laying all that cable?

The 20th annual Peddler’s Faire was well attended and the weather was great. Thanks to all who helped. Many Knights Ferry residents held yard sales with so many people in town. It was a fun day.
