At the meeting of the History and Museum Associates, the displays for the Civil War weekend were finalized. There will be Civil War decanters and old buttons for viewing. The KFS eighth graders will be selling hot dogs at the Civil War to earn money for their graduation. Carol Davis reported there are 31 paid dealers for the May 1st Peddlers Faire with more coming in daily. The Associates gave Bob Muller the job of finishing the last side of Miller’s Hall.

The Knights Ferry School 5th through 8th grades went to Dodge Ridge for a ski day. Sophie Jones liked skiing down Quicksilver. Kim Medeiros had fun throwing snowballs but did not have fun falling down. Charissa Humble liked going down the back trail and snowballs. Cheli Limon made snowmen on the trails and them took them down.

The Knights Ferry Garden Club met and will provide flower bouquets for the tables at the Spaghetti Dinner.

Lee and Mary Sue Shearer took the 4th and 5th graders from Valley Home School on a tour of the town, the Museum and the children ended up at the Ice Cream Parlor.

This weekend is the Civil War reenactment. Every year this is a great event. The Community Club is serving up a great spaghetti dinner on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a raffle also. Rain or shine the show will go on!

There was a huge crowd at Benny’s Ball Feed Saturday night. The clubhouse was decorated in a western theme and the tables were laden with food. Linda Cassinetto would like to thank all who helped set things up and who helped run the dinner. Linda is doing better but has to rest more than she is used to. It was an enjoyable evening.

Last Friday night there was the annual Covered Bridge run in the dark. A group of about 15 streaked across the bridge. Was someone missing his or her clothes?

The River’s Edge opened Sunday and almost the whole town turned out for breakfast! Ben and Linda haven’t got their liquor license yet but will have it soon. They plan on serving three meals on the weekend, close on Mondays and are open the rest of the time for dinner.
