August is just around the corner and that means school will be starting. What happened to school starting in September?

The Knights Ferry Community Club will have their August meeting on the 4th at 6:30 p.m. It is a dinner meeting.

Sunday, August 7th is Breakfast Sunday in the Ferry. Ham, eggs, hot cakes, juice and coffee for $5.00 at the Odd Fellows hall.

Condolences go out to Kim Whitey and family on the death of her stepfather Wayne of Sacramento.

Family and friends gathered at the home of Michael and Maureen McKibban to celebrate their July birthdays. Daughter Kate, son-in-law Graeme, and granddaughter Emma from New York were out. Son Ross, Daughter-in-law Janet and grandsons Cole and Luke were down from Davis and Maureen’s brother Bill McInerney came over from Marin for the festivities. All enjoyed the catered dinner by Ron Erickson of Yankee Hill Winery.

The first Open Mike session was well attended at the River’s Edge last Saturday.

Knights Ferry School starts Tuesday, August 16. The school grounds have been renovated. There is a new handicap parking area, new retaining walls between the upper and lower play areas, a new grass area on the upper play area and an expanded lower court. There are two new teachers for this school year, Jaclyn Headrick will teach the 5-6 combo and Alejandra Gutierrez will teach the Second Grade.

Beth Dietrich recently had a house warming party and received gifts from wasp spray to flowers. Then on Saturday, Beth celebrated her 29th birthday at the River’s Edge. The Randy Mandy Band started the “Birthday Song.” Next year Beth is looking forward to being a Zero!

Don’t forget the Kid’s Talent Show on Friday, July 29th at 7:00p.m. at the River’s Edge. Proceeds will go to the Knights Ferry School.
