Alex and Jean Naccarato celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary with a quiet evening at home. They had sons Alex Jr. and Scott, with their families and dogs, visiting for Christmas. The families left before the anniversary and Jean said they just enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Sunday, January 8th is Breakfast Sunday in the Ferry at the I.O.O.F. Hall from 8:00 to noon. Start the New Year with a good breakfast and good visiting.

There will be no Garden Club meeting this month.

The Knights Ferry Community Club will meet January 5th at 7:00 p.m. for a dessert meeting. The Ground Hog dinner and white elephant raffle will be discussed.

While your reporter was filing last year’s columns in a binder (yes, I like paper) I found some interesting monthly happenings:
January 2011 - Had been a very wet month with power outages.
February - Charlie Mynatt had a hole-in-one and Sonora Road was closed for a landslide.
March - The civil War re-enactment was rained out on the second day.
April - Goslings hatched on the Dolling’s pond. Don and Gayle Diltz returned home after a 5600-mile trip down South.
May - Bovine Bingo, a talent show and dinner raised money for Knights Ferry School. Lynn and Barb Burroughs returned from a trip to Utah.
June - A mountain lion was sighted on the bridge. Ellen Wearin retired from teaching at Knights Ferry School. River rescues started.
July - Willms Ranch House received Residential Preservation Award from McHenry Museum Historical Society. River flow increased to 2500 CFS.
August - Children had a talent show at the River’s Edge. There was a fire on the North side of the covered Bridge. Heather Wright returned from working 30 days cleaning in Joplin Missouri with the Army Corp.
September - The 50’s Roadhouse was sold by Chris Alexander. A successful fundraiser was had for the Pet Alliance.
October - The last side of Miller’s Hall was finished. Linda Cassinetto and Owen Haskell died.
November - 48th annual Pumpkin Roll took place. There were a lot of salmon in the river. KFS band went to see “Blue Man Group.”
December - KF had a Great Christmas parade down Main Street. Amanda Wright graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing.

New babies born in 2011 were: Ella Murray, Cadan McCormack, Wyatt Shearer, Neil Burroughs and Gage Perry.
