Lee and Mary Sue Shearer have returned from San Luis Obispo where they attended grandson Alex Krippner’s graduation from Cal Poly. They took Amtrak from Jack London Square down south. Interesting was the amount of homeless shelters built among the trees along the tracks. At San Luis Obispo they joined Alex and other family members at a dinner at a Japanese Restaurant where they cooked in front of you. On Saturday the family attended a reception for graduating Mechanical Engineers, then hiked across campus to the ceremony. The new sports arena was packed and 900 graduated. Then it was on to a dinner honoring Alex and his roommate Aaron given by Aaron’s family. Sunday saw Lee and Mary Sue on the Amtrak bus to Hanford to catch the train to Modesto. Train travel is the only way to go!
