Sorry to report the Ferry has lost an attraction. Joey the Camel died. He belonged to Lisa and Fred Dolling. They wonder if he could have eaten something that killed him. He will be missed.

As your reporter was going to the Knights Ferry School to take milkweed seed to the 1st through 4th graders there was a forked horned deer lying in our driveway. I called Lee and we decided it must have broken its back trying to jump the fence. He got it to move a little so I could go. When I got back we waited for the Game Warden to come. He had to shoot the deer and then he took it to bury. Such a pretty little thing, sorry that it happened.

The tornado that hit Denair Sunday was quite something. Sharon Page grew up in Denair and the church that was pictured in the news was the one she had gone to. She has two sisters that still live in Denair, Norma and Carol, and Sharon talked to them. They said that things were flying through the air, one sister’s trampoline went sailing somewhere, and lines were down all over. It sounded like a freight train. Not something they want to experience again.

Also at the meeting, it was told how the 7th-8th graders canned pears. The new school logo design was unveiled for use on brochures, notices etc.
