Here it is another month already! There are a lot of things happening in the Ferry this month. April 2nd is the Knights Ferry Community Club dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse. April 4th is the Car Show with over 160 cars entered. The cars will all be around town, none on the other side of the river. There will be live entertainment, food, and T-shirts available. April 5th is Easter with sunrise services at the cross on Frymire’s hill. April 8th the Garden Club is meeting at the cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Bring a sack lunch. Breakfast Sunday is April 12th due to Easter. The History and Museum Associates meet April 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Miller’s Hall. The MAC will meet April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. April 26th is the annual Peddler’s Faire at the Army Corp Park.

Knights Ferry School announced their Students of the Trimester. Starting with Kindergarten and working up: Nathaly Ramirez, Maddie Dickens, Jenna O’Neil, Josh Reese, Grace Harden, Anthony Neely, Denali Benson, Jazzlynn Velasquez and Wyatt Dickens. Congratulations!

The Oakdale Rural Fire Department will be looking for two new board members as Don Armario and Sherry Schlegel are going off the board.

At the MAC meeting the California Highway patrolman said there were no traffic complaints last month. Heather Wright, new Army Corp Park Manager, spoke on the new charge for day use in the parks, Orange Blossom, McHenry and Knights Ferry. It will be $4.00. All fees collected will be used on site. Randy Avant, Public Works Road Superintendent, researched the widening of the road behind the Plaza in front of the Masonic Hall and it cannot be done.
Jason Turner has been appointed to the Community Service district (water).

There was a rocking good time at the PFC dinner and auction Saturday night. L&M Blodgett catering did the catering. Jason Hixon was the auctioneer. David Voortman was the overall chairman and had an active group to help him. The Kindergarten Cameo Quilt went for $750.00. The First Grade Framed Hand Art went for $300.00. The Second Grade Picnic Table went for $525. Third Graders made a framed fingerprint art and that went for $625.00. The Fourth Graders had a memory bench that went for $750.00. The Fifth Grade project was a wine barrel rocking loveseat and that went for $1625.00. The Sixth Graders made a quilt with pictures of the town’s historical buildings and that went for $400.00. The Seventh Grade created a mosaic around a fire pit and that went for $800.00. The Eighth Grade class made a framed art picture of the covered Bridge and that went for $400.00. This was a great fundraiser!
