At the meeting of the Knights Ferry History and Museum Associates, it was decided to have the last side of Miller’s Hall replaced. That should end the bat problem! The Museum will have a display for the Civil War reenactment March 19th and 20th.

Maureen McKibban and her daughter Kate and granddaughter Emma (who were visiting from New York) returned to New York on that week of bad weather. They went to Sacramento for their flight but it was canceled because of a mechanical problem and they were put up in a hotel for the night. In the morning the plane left but could not land in Chicago due to the weather and they were routed to Washington D.C. From there they took a 45-minute cab ride to the train station because planes were not flying. The train ride took 4 hours to Penn Station in New York City, arriving at 1:00 in the morning. Emma, almost one, had not slept. It was sleeting and the roads had black ice when Graeme arrived to pick them up to go home, which took another hour. They arrived in Rye, New York at 3:00 a.m. Maureen and all fell asleep immediately. It was a 38-hour trip, not counting Sacramento. Once over the trip, Maureen enjoyed seeing the new house that Graeme and Kate are buying in Greenwich, Connecticut. While there Maureen got to see Emma’s first swim lesson at the YMCA and to celebrate Emma’s first birthday. Emma wore the dress Kate wore on her first birthday and wore the bracelet that Maureen wore on her first birthday! The trip home to the Ferry was fine!
