It was a beautiful weekend in Knights Ferry! Sunday was the pancake breakfast and our local Girl Scout, Ocean Ingram was selling cookies out front. The Odd Fellows do a good job supporting other fundraising groups.

The Knights Ferry Community Club will host their spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 5pm-8pm on at the Clubhouse on Main Street. They are pre-selling tickets on their website, www.knightsferrycommunityclub.com and will serve dinner inside or curb-side. At the meeting last week, the Club sounded happy to have another social outing to gather with one another. The Club elected their 2022 officers: President, Chris Peterson; Vice President, Jason Sweet; Secretary, Charilyn Damigo; and Treasurer, Lisa Dolling. Dues are due for Community Club members and can be paid by sending a check to the Clubhouse PO Box or online at the website.

The Odd Fellows Rebekahs are selling tickets for $10 each to their St. Patrick’s Day corn beef dinner complete with all the trimmings on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Odd Fellows building on Main Street. Doors open at 2pm and dinner will be served at 4pm. It sounds like a great time; I heard the Rebekahs will have a raffle and games to play! When Carol Davis isn’t participating in the Garden Club, the Community Club, the Cemetery meetings, and Miller’s Hall meetings, she has been planning the Oakdale High School Class of 1952’s 70th reunion. The reunion will be held on June 4th at the Gambini Ranch. Joe and Hazel (Kerner) Gambini have set up a Gambini Family Museum on the ranch on River Road for their classmates to visit and enjoy at the reunion. The County is replacing the pipe alongside the fire house. The pipeline backs up and floods the lower parts of town during heavy rain storms. I am sure our local homes down town will appreciate the county’s work!

The Knights Ferry School held their annual Dinner and Auction fundraiser over the weekend! I am looking forward to reporting the details of the special event next week. They held a Masquerade-themed fundraiser at the Bianchi Center in Oakdale. The decorations looked absolutely beautiful and I spoke with a few attendees who said the event was a lot of fun!
