The Knights Ferry Museum could use the community’s help with some vital repairs. Here is an important note from the History & Museum Associates on how you can be a part of keeping Knights Ferry history alive:
“The Knights Ferry History & Museum Associates is currently seeking support to help fund the rebuilding of the Miller’s Hall Museum elevator. This out-of-service elevator is a critical access point for our seniors and visitors with disabilities, and restoring it is essential to ensuring that everyone in our community can fully experience and enjoy this historic space. Originally built in 1860, Miller’s Hall is a treasured historic landmark and an important gathering place for our community.
Your contribution, of any size, will help preserve and improve this cherished space so it can continue to serve as a hub for art, history, community events, and local culture in Knights Ferry.
Thanks to the dedication of our founders, Miller’s Hall was restored and saved in 1987. Today, it houses the town’s Museum, KF Creamery, Read & Return Library, Art Studio & Gallery, and the U.S. Post Office. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events, including the annual Peddler’s Faire each April, our “Knight at the Museum” member appreciation event in the fall, as well as ongoing art shows, concerts, workshops, and music festivals.
The Museum is open to the public on the first Sunday of every month from 11 AM to 3 PM, offering a locally curated glimpse into the rich history of our town.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible and directly support the preservation and programming of Miller’s Hall.
We would be deeply grateful for your support in helping us complete this important project. Together, we can ensure that Miller’s Hall continues to thrive for generations to come. Sincerely, The Knights Ferry History & Museum Associates.”
If you would like to contribute you can check out the GoFundMe or donate through Venmo @KnightsFerry-Museum

This past weekend saw another successful Civil War Reenactment weekend come and go. The town was bustling with locals and visitors alike and everything went off without a hitch. Local legend, Carol Davis, recalls a time when things got a little wild when the Civil War came to town. She writes:
“One interesting story is the time the Knights Ferry Museum had a food booth across from the Mill. The Civil War group brought about four or five horses to use in the battles. One horse was tied to a hitching post near our booth -- well something spooked the horse and off he went down Covered Bridge Road (didn't stop at the stop sign) and galloped on down Main Street before someone caught the horse in front of the Resort, now River’s Edge. They never brought horses to the event again!”
Thanks for sharing another gem with us, Carol, your stories are always priceless.
