The Knights Ferry Community Club hosted their annual spaghetti fundraiser on March 12th. Usually, the fundraiser is held during the Civil War Reenactments but the club decided to hold their fundraiser even though the reenactments were canceled. The delicious spaghetti dinner was made by members of the club: Carmen Frymire headed up cooking the pasta with Lisa Dolling and Megan Peterson and the sauce was made by Tracy Griesner, John Phefferle, and Megan Peterson. President Chris Peterson was in charge of gathering the supplies and shopping. The club would like to thank the Orange Blossom 4-H members for their help with cleaning up plates and keeping the place tidy!

Rebekahs’ St. Patrick’s Day event was on Sunday, March 13th from 2-5pm. It was well attended by Lodge members and a few new faces! The Lodge was full and there was a list of orders taken to-go and there wasn’t much left over. The Rebekahs prepared corned beef, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, rolls, corn bake, meat balls, pear Jell-O, and dessert. Lisa Dolling said it was the best corned beef she had ever eaten! The Rebekahs held a small raffle and cabbage bowling for entertainment. Everyone had a great time!

Knights Ferry School fifth graders, Adrian Ramos and Pablo Martinez traveled with their competitive soccer team, the Oakdale Soccer Club Stallions 2010B team to Sunnyvale, CA to compete in the Santa Cruz Breakers Cup tournament. Adrian, Pablo, and their team took first in their bracket with 2 wins and 1 loss and moved on to the Championship game. It was a tough game ending regular play with a 1-1 score and ended with penalty kicks to determine the winner. The Oakdale Soccer Club Stallions won, outscoring their opponent 3-2 goals! It was a team effort to walk away with the Championship win but Knights Ferry is very excited for Adrian and Pablo! Congratulations, boys!

Katie Feichter reporting seeing a large bobcat on Main Street on Thursday night while she was pulling the Odd Fellow’s garbage cans to the street! Another local reported hearing a bobcat screech in the area in recent days as well. In Knights Ferry, we live among wild animals but not all of us see them up close and personal! This is just a friendly reminder to keep an eye on small animals if they are outside at night.
