Stuart Boyer, son of Jim and Diane Boyer, was married on April 17^th to Rosalie Luna in an outdoor wedding in San Diego. Lifelong friend Garrett Graupner was his best man. Besides Stuart’s parents, brothers Scott and Stephen with wives Tina and Melissa and nephews Matthew and Nicholas attended. They are honeymooning in Hawaii and then will be home in Polson, Montana where Stuart has a church.

At the Municipal Advisory Council’s meeting, Christy Amaral from Stanislaus County explained the county is charging for the use of barriers because of the budget cuts. The History and Museum Associates put barriers out for no parking on one side of the road for the Peddler’s Faire and were being charged this year. She told that at the next Board of Supervisors meeting they will vote on closing the County Libraries on Fridays and cutting the staff in the Sheriff’s Department. Ramon Martinez from the United States Department of Fish and Wildlife presented pictures on the Honolulu Bar Floodplain Enhancement Project. Heather Wright from the U.S. Army Corp Parks told they have a contract for a Sheriff to patrol the East Stanislaus parks on the weekends and holidays for the summer. David Voortman spoke on rafting. He runs River Journey, which has been active for 25 years. This year their raft season will begin on May 1^st and go to October. June 12 they will have a Lymphoma and Leukemia rafting run. Twice a month they have a river clean up. In September they have dive for trash day.

The Orange Blossom 4-H Clover Buds hiked the river trail with llamas Piccard and Crusader carrying all their picnic things. Before they started out, David Voortman gave them a river safety talk. The Orange Blossom Llama group’s 4^th through 12^th grade members went to Manteca for an upscale llama hike.

Sounded like a good time at Sean and Kim McCarthy’s home Saturday night, a wedding reception on the river.

It was a beautiful day for the Peddler’s Faire last Sunday. Over 80 dealers spread their antiques, collectables and crafts out for the shoppers and lookers. The Odd Fellows served breakfast and a shuttle service allowed for town parking and less walking. The Knights Ferry History and Museum Associates sponsored this in cooperation with Stanislaus River Parks. The proceeds from the event will go towards finishing re-siding Miller’s Hall, two sides are done and the third is in the process. Both stairways have been redone.
