It smells so good after a rain!

Welcome to the world Alice Rose Barrett, born September 30 to Breana and Alex. Proud grandparents are Lisa and Jason Lewis. Proud great grandparents are Gordon and Michel Griesner and proud great great grandmother is Mickie Milam (five generations)!

At the meeting of the History and Museum Associates they told of a recycle bin for the waste paper generated in the building. Also Dolly Haskell, Postmistress, told of trying to get a Point of Sale for the Post Office.

The class of Lisa Fogerty at Knights Ferry School enjoyed a presentation by Jessica Esteves on Bees. It was a very informative program. Savanna McCarthy got to be the beekeeper.

The town was crawling last Saturday with busy cleaners. It was Clean up the Town day. Adults and children pitched in to remove trash, cobwebs, weeds, and limbs etc. from the Main Street. A dumpster was provided to haul off the stuff. (After this rain the streets could use another raking).

Knights Ferry School’s Jog-a-Thon was run with a patriotic theme. After the run the children were treated to snow cones from Tellis Shaved Ice, provided by Dr. Russ Porter and Dr. Christina Chan. Thanks to all who helped make the run a success.

At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting, Sophia Thompson led the flag pledge. The Board adopted the Conflict of Interest Code and Approved the Superintendent’s Contract. The teachers were excited about the Robotics training. The kits have arrived. Kindergarten teacher Kim McCarthy presented a Problem-Based Learning Kindergarten lesson on pumpkins. Next month Junior High teacher Randy Russell will present a lesson.

SAVE THE DATE - November 6th is the annual Pumpkin Roll in the Ferry. Craft booths will be in the clubhouse, breakfast served in the Odd Fellows Hall, Museum open, and the Roll. Sign up will start at 11:00a.m. The 5 and under will roll at noon on the tennis court. The others will roll at 1 o’clock, all hoping to win a genuine simulated gold trophy. There will also be food booths, kids activities and more. It is always a fun day!

The Knights Ferry 7th and 8th graders canned pears at the church with pears from the McCarthy trees. They learned all about canning under the tutelage of Charilyn Damigo.
