Knights Ferry News
Knights Ferry

Knights Ferry has a star in the area. Kelly Vermeer Vella was one of four to compete on the reality show “Forged in Fire.” Kelly has been a farrier for 30 years. She flew to New York City in June to compete with three others at the show’s production shop. The first thing she had to make was a 30-inch knife complete with a handle and very sharp blade. She passed those tests and they sent her back to Knights Ferry to make a weapon at her shop. A film crew followed her and in the time frame she finished the product and sent it to New York. She flew to NYC for the final round and WON! Her prize was $10,000. Way to go Kelly.
