Knights Ferry News 1-11-23
Nastasia Sweet

Knights Ferry had a very wet and windy Saturday night. The power went out from about 10pm Saturday night to 12pm Sunday. For those of us in town, no power means little to no water because the water plant is on the same electrical grid as the town! I am sure we aren’t the only ones but we lost a large tree in our yard too!

On Sunday morning, Jim McCarthy passed at home. Jim was a long time local resident and was very important in Knights Ferry’s long standing traditions. I hope to have service details next week. My sincerest condolences to the family.

I stopped by the Covered Bridge last weekend. It is indeed closed with a chain link fence barricading people from entering the bridge and signs alerting visitors of the restricted access. It is bittersweet because I want the Bridge to be repaired so it lasts long after we are all gone but I enjoy walking the loop through the park with my dog!
