Knights Ferry News 02-07-24

Running a business in Knights Ferry can be a bit risky. The busiest time for most of the businesses in town is summer with the gorgeous weather, the longer days, the tourists enjoying the water and small town charm. They see an uptick in business when there is an event in town such as the Civil War reenactments. But during the winter or on rainy days, the town is quiet with the locals passing through town to grab their mail on their way home. They might prepare for a busy day only to be met with poor weather with barely any traffic in town! It is tough to know what kind of day to plan for and the best hours to keep the doors open. I admire places like the 50s Roadhouse. Manny and Maria have built a strong and steady business drumming up business from the highway travelers, welcoming car/bike groups, and serving their good size group of regulars! Congratulations to Linda Osborne celebrating her first year of keeping the doors open at the General Store/Rick’s Saloon! The local businesses do a fantastic job supporting the community and the school and I don’t think I talk about them all enough!
