City Council members in Oakdale have appointed Curtis Haney to fill the open city council seat, the action coming at a special meeting on Feb. 10 with a 3-1 vote. Council invited community members to submit applications for the open seat and six applicants threw their hats in for consideration. Haney came in third with 2,300 votes during the last election, when there were two council seats available. He will fill the seat vacated by Cherilyn Bairos when she was selected to move in to the mayor’s post.
