The City of Oakdale has announced that a public ribbon cutting event will be held to officially re-open the Oakdale Children’s Play Park located in Dorada Park on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m.

The event will celebrate the efforts of community volunteers who helped remodel the play park over five days from Oct 14 to Oct. 18.

The Oakdale Children’s Play Park, on the southeast corner of A Street and Second Avenue, was originally constructed in October 1993. The recent park rehabilitation project was funded by donations from local businesses and community members and constructed by hundreds of volunteers.

Oakdale City Manager Bryan Whitemyer said he and the Oakdale Children’s Play Park Committee would like to thank the entire community for its generosity in raising funds and providing in-kind donations to make the rehabilitation of this play park a reality.

“Join us on Tuesday at 6 p.m. to witness the amazing transformation of this play park,” Whitemyer said.
