Bundled up against the late winter chill, local resident Cassandra Schultz – as Daisy Duck – took to the four corners of the main intersection at Yosemite Avenue and F Street in Oakdale recently, paying off a Super Bowl bet. For the past several years, she and her husband Will have engaged in a friendly wager. Cassandra chooses who she thinks will win the Super Bowl and the loser has to spend 10 minutes on each corner in a costume of the winner’s choice, holding the ‘lost the bet’ sign. The payoff comes a week or two after the big game, allowing enough time for the proper costume to be obtained. Cassandra anticipated a three-peat from the Chiefs and had to pay the price when they lost to the Eagles.
