The next regular meeting for the 2026 Relay For Life of Greater Central Valley will be staged in Modesto on Thursday, March 26.

All are welcome to attend to learn more about the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, on the schedule for Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17 at Johansen High School in Modesto.

The event includes teams primarily from Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties and along with the general meeting on March 26, several teams are planning special activities as a way to raise funds in the fight against cancer.

For those interested in the meeting, it will be at Wellspring Anglican Church, 1548 Cummins Drive, Modesto and begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Sutter Birthing Center team will be serving up dinner as a fundraiser at the meeting, with enchiladas, rice, beans, a drink and dessert available for just $10.

Wear your favorite Relay shirt to earn spirit points. Chemo Crew team members will be guest speakers for the meeting.

The theme for the 2026 Relay is Fishing For a Cure and a fundraising goal of $175,000 has been set. Over $50,000 had been raised as of March 23; with more than 200 participants on 38 teams.

Coming up prior to the mid-May 24-hour Relay For Life, a Paint Party Fundraiser will be hosted by Team Flamingo, set for Saturday, April 11 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Wellspring Anglican Church. Cost is $30 per person and light refreshments are included. Kat’s Paint Party is putting on the event; you can contact Lisa at 209-735-1213 to reserve your spot.

Also, the Flamingos will be putting on a Tea Party fundraiser on Saturday, April 25 at the church, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at a cost of $10 per person.

Wear your favorite party hat and bring your favorite tea cup to enjoy a variety of teas and light snacks.

Proceeds from both the paint and tea parties will benefit Team Flamingo in their fundraising efforts for Relay.

The Cure Guides team is once again offering their popular opportunity drawing to win two three-day Hopper Tickets for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Tickets are $6 each or five for $25 and the tickets are donated by Gate-Or-Door of Ripon. The winner will be drawn Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m. at the Relay, though the winner does not need to be present to win.
