DIVE INTO HISTORY
History 1122

The new Images of America book focused on Oakdale has been a good seller so far for the Friends of Oakdale Heritage, with proceeds benefiting the Oakdale Museum and History Center. A drive-thru sale was hosted on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the West F Street Museum and those buying them received a free cookie with each book purchase. Here, President Barb Torres, left, volunteer John Torres and board member David Cross work the table in front of the museum. Sales have been brisk, with over 350 books sold to date; Barb Torres said they expect to place another order for more books soon. They also will sell them at local events including the weekend Cowboy Christmas and at the Market Place on Poplar, set for Saturday, Dec. 2.
