Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 5-25-22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, May 17 through Monday, May 23. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, MAY 23

Crews participated in TDA Training today at the RFTC.

8:17 p.m. – Fire units responded to a residential structure fire in Copper Creek. Crews arrived to find a single-story townhome with smoke coming from the front of the structure. Crews worked in the offensive mode to quickly contain the fire. No injuries reported, the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigations Unit is working to determine cause and origin.

 

SUNDAY, MAY 22

Crews conducted probationary training at Station 17. Crews worked on various hose management and ladder evolutions.

 

SATURDAY, MAY 21

Crews performed Saturday station clean-up and maintenance.

10:04 a.m. – Modesto E7 and Stanislaus BC2 responded to a vegetation fire in the 3100 block of Sylvan Avenue. Crews arrived on scene and found a small grass fire. E7 was able to quickly extinguish the fire.

 

FRIDAY, MAY 20

Brush 28, Grass 27, Grass 29, Brush 23, Water Tender 27, and BC5 responded for the report of a grass fire in the area of Atlas Road and Fox Borough Drive in East Oakdale. On scene crews located a small grass fire and a pump house on fire. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and stayed on scene an extended amount of time doing overhaul and assuring no spot fires were caused by the main fire.

 

THURSDAY, MAY 19

WEDNESDAY, MAY 18

Water Rescue 28 conducted boat training at Woodward Reservoir. E29 provided coverage for the City of Oakdale.

 

TUESDAY, MAY 17

1:20 p.m. – E9, E3 and BC1 responded to a vegetation fire reported at Claus/Milnes. Crews extinguished a quarter-acre grass fire. Fire was caused by a tractor mowing an open field.

E27 and E28 conducted LARRO rope training.
