Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 4-13-22
Engine 27

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, April 5 through Monday, April 11. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.



The Technical Rescue Team reviewed Trench Rescue.



9:44 a.m. – Modesto Brush 15, Stanislaus Engine 24, and Modesto BC3 assisted Keyes Fire Department on a vegetation fire in the 2000 block of Turner Road. Crews from Keyes, Hughson, Turlock Rural, Mountain View, Modesto, and Stanislaus Consolidated worked to contain a wind driven vegetation fire in tall light flashy fuels that was threatening three homes. The fire was contained and extinguished without any structure damage at approximately five acres.

1:17 p.m. – Engine 29 responded to a motor vehicle accident with CAL FIRE TCU near Highway 120 and 2-Mile Bar. Engine 29 arrived to find a single motorcycle off the roadway with minor injuries to the cyclist. Engine 29 provided initial patient care and CHP is investigating the incident.



Crews rotated through Station 17 to work on Q18 signoffs.

Crews performed Saturday station cleanup and maintenance on their stations and equipment.

Crews conducted training with Engineers on sign offs for the tiller truck.

The annual Oakdale Rodeo started this weekend with several events occurring. Crews were able to respond and cover several calls for service during the event.



Modesto Fire Department crews assisted CALFIRE with a field exercise training in Knights Ferry.



New Engine 27 (E-27) placed into service. Thanks to City of Oakdale and all committee members.



Companies continued to rotate through RT130 wildland training.

MCS academy trained in standpipe operations

1:09 p.m. – Modesto Fire and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire units were dispatched to a working residential structure fire in the 2300 block of Dupre Drive in the City of Ceres for a kitchen fire. Crews arrived to find light smoke in the residence and located a smoldering fire in the attic space. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with Red Cross assisting three adults and two children.



Crews rotated through TRRP, Tuolumne River Regional Park, for their annual RT130 refresher training.
