An early Tuesday morning vehicle vs. bicycle collision in Oakdale made for some tense moments but did not result in any injury.

Oakdale Police said on May 24, just before 8 a.m., officers responded to the area of Maxwell Avenue and Poplar Street for reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicycle. The vehicle was headed south on Maxwell Avenue and stopped to make a right turn on Poplar Street. At that time, a child riding a bike was crossing Maxwell Avenue. The child quickly jumped off the bike before the collision and was not struck. The vehicle contacted only the bike and the child was not injured, police said

During the time of the collision, the vehicle was moving at a very slow speed. The investigation is ongoing.
