Chamber Of Commerce Focuses On Community
OAK CofC

As the region settles in to the New Year, officials at the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce are looking forward to the opportunity to highlight and magnify the importance of small businesses while also encouraging tourism and economic growth.

With a number of events scattered throughout the calendar year, the Chamber continues to support the local business community and also is planning for its annual awards dinner. The Chamber recently extended the deadline for nominations for the awards and will be accepting submissions until Jan. 31. Nomination forms may be obtained on the Chamber’s website at oakdalechamber.com.

The banquet is scheduled on Friday, March 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale.

The four categories for nominees include: Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Jr. Achiever of the Year, and Community Service. Those selected as the winners will be announced at the mid-March dinner, which also traditionally has included a previously selected Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

Chamber Chief Executive Officer Trisha Brown added that this is the perfect time to join, or renew membership, so as to take advantage of all the Chamber has to offer.

Any business can apply to join the Chamber either by contacting them directly at 209-847-2244 or filling out the one page application on their website OakdaleChamber.com/about/membership/.

“All basic level memberships receive the benefit of visibility, advocacy, and credibility,” said Brown.

The Chamber office is at 590 N. Yosemite Ave.

Among the key events on the Chamber schedule this year is the Mayor’s State of the City Address, scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bianchi Community Center, where Mayor Cherilyn Bairos will provide a recap of the past year and also talk about the plans for the city moving forward.
