The annual Stanislaus River Salmon Festival is on the schedule this weekend, set for Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area.
Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; there is no admission fee to the festival itself, though parking in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lots in Knights Ferry costs $10. Those with a USACE or America the Beautiful pass can display it in their vehicle window for free parking.
This free, family-friendly event will feature more than 40 natural resource exhibitors, plus a live bald eagle.
There will also be food for sale, art and crafts booths, live entertainment, Native American drummers and music, pet adoption opportunities, free Fish Print T’s and activities for kids, fly casting demonstrations, salmon viewing, and more.
There will also be an awards ceremony for the winners of the Salmon Festival calendar art contest at the festival beginning at noon.
Calendars will be on sale at the festival for $10 each or two calendars for $15. Proceeds support the festival and this art contest for local K-8 children in the area.
