Annual Downtown Murphys Witch Walk Postponed

Producers of the Fifth Annual Downtown Murphys Witch Walk, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, have announced the all day, town-wide event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The safety of guests, Murphys residents and business owners is of paramount importance and the producers – though saddened by the decision – agree it is in everyone’s best interest that the Downtown Murphys Witch Walk be postponed until October 2021 with no event for 2020.

The Annual Downtown Murphys Witch Walk was founded in 2015 by Teresa Rodriguez, owner of Murphys’ Potted Plum gift shop, as a means to increase awareness, tourism and retail sales throughout the Main Street retail shopping and dining district. In its four years, the event has grown to attract thousands of costumed revelers, shoppers, and families to Murphys to explore, shop, dine and learn about this unique and historic Gold Country town.

The expanded the 2021 Downtown Murphys Witch Walk is tentatively scheduled for the third Saturday in October 2021 and will include more vendors, live music and entertainment, costume contests, and family-and kid-friendly events, and activities.

“On behalf of the producers, The Potted Plum Gift Shop, The Murphys Pourhouse, The Murphys School of Music, thank you for your continued support and please be safe,” said volunteer Marketing Director Christopher Buttner. “We wish you and your family and friends good fortune and health.”
