A daughter, Avery Kay Cornett, was born Sept. 21, 2010 to expectant parents Shane and Emma Cornett of Oakdale. The newborn weighed eight pounds, five ounces upon arrival at Oak Valley Hospital.

The mother is the former Emma Rubio.

Welcoming the newcomer home was older sister Shelby Cornett.

Andres and Emerita Rubio of Oakdale are the maternal grandparents.

Jim and Shirley Moir of Redwood City and Floyd and Sue Cornett of Friday Harbor, WA are the paternal grandparents.
