Fall is always a busy time for Oakdale High School sports. Here is a glance at how a number of the Mustang teams fared this past week.

VOLLEYBALL

In their lone match of the week, Oakdale defeated Patterson on the road 3-1. Oakdale swept the Tigers this year as they defeated them earlier in the season. The Mustangs also competed in tournament play and went 2-2. They defeated Chavez (2-1) and Edison (2-1). They fell to Homestead 2-0 and Truckee 2-0 in the weekend tournament. This week Oakdale traveled to Mountain House on Tuesday, Oct. 8 following The Leader’s press time. Thursday night, Oct. 10 the girls will host East Union. Freshmen take the court at 4 p.m., JV at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:15 p.m.

GIRLS GOLF

Oakdale golfers did not take the links this past week as their only match was decided by a forfeit over Central Catholic. They did honor their seniors, however, as Hannah Herschbach, Xcaret Duque, Jenna O’Neill and Jillian Rose were all honored for their contributions to the program. Herschbach and Duque are both four-year players and O’Neill and Rose have been with the team for two years. The Lady Mustangs were scheduled to start this week off by competing in the Merced Invitational on Monday, Oct. 7.

TENNIS

No results were submitted for the tennis girls by press time. This week they are scheduled to host Mountain House on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. This will be their only game until they return to the court on Thursday, Oct. 17 when they travel to Patterson.

FLAG FOOTBALL

The Lady Mustang flag football team earned a split this week with East Union. Tuesday night the girls lost to the Lancers 28-27 but bounced back with a 35-24 victory Thursday night. Oakdale is now 2-4 in Valley Oak League play. Tuesday, Oct. 8 Oakdale traveled to Patterson following The Leader’s press time. Thursday night, Oct. 10 Oakdale will host Patterson at 7 p.m.
