OHS Sports Boosters Club Hosts Dinner Dance, Auction
mustangs

It’s that time of year already. The 2020 Oakdale High School Sports Boosters Club Dinner, Dance and Auction will be held Saturday, March 21 at the FES Hall in Oakdale. Tickets are priced at $75 each and it will include dinner from House of Beef and an open bar from H-B. Outside of the money they raise at the snack shack at the football games, this is the group’s only fundraiser of the year. A table for eight can be purchased for $600.

Proceeds of the evening benefit uniforms and equipment needed for Oakdale High School sports. Pete Simoncini will be master of ceremonies. Entertainment for the evening includes live music from Borderline, a silent and live auction, a gun raffle and more.

The OHS Sports Boosters are in need of sponsors for the event and there will be four sponsorship opportunities. Those are: Colt ($250); Pony ($500), Mustang ($1,000) and Golden Mustang ($5,000).

Since 2007 the Boosters have raised $850,000 to benefit various athletic programs for the school. Scholarships are also created by this event where they award scholarships to student-athletes from OHS. For more information on how to donate, become a sponsor or for tickets to the event, call (209)765-4153. Must be 21 years of age or older to attend. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

It takes many visionaries and volunteers to make this annual event possible and some of those include: Antoinette Rodin, Dave and Kim Vierra, John and Amy Knittel, Shauna Rico, Jeff and Gina Womack, Ian and Adrienne Atack, Chad and Denise Dessert, Mark and Maggie Haley, Gregg and Angela Jeffrey, Letty McKenzie, Manuel and Trudy Vierra amongst them. OHS Boosters are a volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage, promote and support all athletic teams at OHS.

OHS sports programs include football, baseball, softball, rodeo, basketball, water polo, and swimming, tennis, cross country, track and field, wrestling, golf, soccer, cheer and volleyball.
