Rivera, VandenBosch Take Three Events Each In Ripon

Oakdale Gators youth swimmers Hayley Rivera and Dustin VandenBosch were truly touching during a meet against the host Ripon Sea Lions on July 7.

Rivera and VandenBosch both touched the wall first in three separate events, landing the best total point collection from a barrage of Oakdale swimmers who accounted for 28 total top three placements among the gritty field of swimming competitors.

Following is a summary of top-three Oakdale Gators place winners at the meet.

The team returned to Ripon for the Mid-Valley Swim League championships on July 14; look for those results and an overall review of the season in the July 25 issue of The Leader.

15-16
Cameron Elswick finished first in the 100 meter individual medley and was second in the 50 freestyle. Christopher Bradley ended second in the 100 breaststroke as well.

13-14
Elizabeth Robinette landed second in the 100 I.M., third in the 50 butterfly and third in the 50 free. Zachary Copeland was second in the 100 I.M. and third in the 100 free. Franziska Daumberger (100 free) and Cayley Elswick (50 back stroke) both corralled third-place honors.

11-12
VandenBosch reached for top accolades in the 50 free, 100 free and 50 back. Maya Lyda was also third in the 100 I.M.

9-10
Rivera won the 50 breast, 50 back and 100 free. Garrett Allan was second in the 100 I.M. while Brittany Gibson finished second in the 50 back.

7-8
Strong swims from Carson Stueve (25 back, 25 free), Breelie Gibson (25 fly) and Andrew Copeland (25 fly) earned each third place recognition in their events.

Six-and-under
Tyler Cooley touched second in the 25 back and was third in the 50 free.

Sebastian Castro was third in the 25 free while Allison Copeland ended third in the 25 free.
