Mustangs Suit Up For Gridiron Action

A Mustang wide receiver climbs the ladder and makes a tremendous catch over the defender. The Mustangs look to make impact plays like the one shown here this upcoming fall.

The summer is off to a sizzling start but it will not be long before the boys of fall take over Oakdale. Like National Football League (NFL) teams, the Oakdale High School varsity football team is currently prepping for the upcoming season. Several members of the Mustang squad headed up to Placer High School recently to participate in a multi-team training camp.

The camp was held earlier in the month to help the team get ready for the 2015 season, with a focus on positioning and offensive and defensive schemes.

Oakdale will kick off the new campaign with a scrimmage at Tracy High School on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m.

League play begins when the section champion Mustangs clash with the defending co-Valley Oak League champion Sierra Timberwolves under the lights of Oakdale’s Corral on Friday, Sept. 25.
