In a doubleheader against Lathrop, the Oakdale High School boys tennis team was flawless. Over spring break the Mustangs went to Lathrop to take on the Spartans on Thursday, April 5. They played two, due to a rainout from their March 13 original match.

The Mustangs defeated Lathrop 9-0 in both sets. Wins by Angel Padilla, Liam Peters, Frankie Dutra, C.J. Toledo, Shivam Mistry and Teo Diaz in singles made for a successful afternoon. Doubles also swept the Spartans behind the efforts of Matt Kjeldgaard, Chris Frye, Aaron Lowe, Jordan Kraude, Jose Santos and Gustavo Gutierrez.

As the weather continues to improve the Mustang boys look to get back on schedule and will host Central Catholic on Thursday, April 12. This will be the first home match of the season for the netters due to weather and other cancelations throughout the season. Oakdale takes the tennis courts at 3:30 p.m.

The Mustangs are 5-2 on the season.

“With a 5-2 record we are making a playoff push,” said head coach Grant Miller.
