Swim Team Wins On The Road
OHS Mustangs

Oakdale High School swim teams earned a road win over Sierra on Friday, April 13. The girls team won 132-41 and the boys battled it out in taking a 90-81 victory.

For the girls relay teams, Kayla Peterson, Juliette Leibenson, Daytona McGinnis and Kassidy Houck took first in the 200 medley. In the 200 freestyle Houck, Peterson, McGinnis and Bethany Metcalfe took first as a unit. In the 400 freestyle relay, Jensen Perry, Hannah Lee, Neesa Deleon and Leibenson took first place. As individuals Deleon, McGinnis, Metcalfe, Peterson and others swam in multiple events.

In boys action, Aron Cameron swam in two events and took first in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Tyler Gross, Cole Liekhus, Kyle Martin, Chandler Neal, Caden Nord, Ethan and Stash Perry, Jordan Womack and David Terwilliger and Ryan Romito all swam in multiple events and took first place.

This week, the team will host a pair of Valley Oak League teams on Friday, April 20 as Central Catholic and Manteca compete with the Mustangs in the regular season finale. Swimming is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, April 28 the annual Valley Oak League Championship will take place at the Oakdale High School aquatic center. The event is scheduled for 9 a.m.
