There is a run, jog, walk, and stroller push for everyone in the family at the Fourth Annual Tiny Smiles’ “tiny” Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run, and Health Expo, on Saturday, Feb. 6, 8 a.m., at the Galt Fairgrounds. This exciting event will benefit U.C. Davis Children’s Hospital, Children’s Heart Foundation and tinySmiles. This event is designed to create awareness of Congenital Heart Defects and raise money for the care and support babies and their families need.

The Half Marathon  loop will take you through historical Galt, new developments, older and newer neighborhoods. The 5K and 10K courses will be a fast out-and-back loop (double loop for the 10K). There are multiple aid stations and bathrooms along the way. Walkers and running strollers are also encouraged to join in. The spectator-friendly finish area is located at the Galt Fairgrounds, so your family and friends can cheer you on and hear your name as you cruise across the finish line. The Fairgrounds is located at Civic Drive and Chabolla Avenue. Free parking all around the start/finish area.

Entry fee is $45 for the 5K Run/Walk and $70 for the half marathon. Entry fee includes custom tech shirt, (finishers medal for the half marathon), goodie bag, race gels, sports drink, post-race food, and entertainment. After the race join in for some food and drinks, and walk through the Health Expo near the start/finish site. And, there will be plenty of fun stuff for the kids.

Children can sign up for the Kids Fun Run (The Tiny Tiny Half) (1.31 mile) on the day of the race. The first 150 to sign up will get a T-shirt and goodie bag, with the $10 entry fee.

To avoid the race-day crowds, there will be an early race-packet pickup on Friday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Littleton Center, 410 Civic Drive, in Galt.

Overall male/female finishers, and masters (50-years and older) male/female finishers receive a custom etched glass trophy. Medals will be awarded to the top three males and females in each age division, 13 and under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
