With Sonora High soon bound for the Mother Lode League via Sac-Joaquin Section realignment, Oakdale squads need to get their licks in while they still can.

The Mustang girls soccer program made it a priority on April 2 as the varsity team rallied behind the collective shutout performance of goaltenders Mackenzie Weiglein (five saves) and Hannah Hanko (four saves) to post a 3-0 win over the visiting Wildcats.

With Sonora (5-4 overall, 2-3 Valley Oak League) pressing to sneak over the .500 mark in conference play, Oakdale (10-4-1, 4-2) maintained a tie for third-place by rolling to all three scores in the first half.

Madison Feuerstein assisted on two scores and watched while Jill Kahler, Gabby Acosta and Izzy Arellano loft goals into the Sonora net.

Oakdale is 3-0 since back-to-back losses to Manteca and East Union sent the program to the bottom of the league standings on March 14.

Oakdale still hasn’t played a Kimball squad ranked No. 6 in the state and 17th in the nation by maxpreps.com, but will entertain the Jaguars on Thursday, April 11. Oakdale played Sierra (6-5-3, 2-3-1) on Tuesday, though results were not available at press time.
