Lady Golfers Improve To 9-0

The young talented Oakdale girls golf team is closing in on winning the Valley Oak League championship. Oakdale earned two Valley Oak League victories this past week to improve to 9-0 on the season. On Tuesday, Sept. 26 the girls defeated East Union (7-2) for the second time this season, 227-251 at Manteca Park in nine-hole action. Both Madi Blanc and Allie Denning shot a game low 43 for Oakdale. Makayla Christiansen shot 46, which tied her with Natalie Cowan of East Union who shot a team low of 46. Taylor Stewart (47) and Andrea York (48) finished the day for Oakdale.

Two days later Oakdale hosted Central Catholic (4-5) and the Lady Mustangs were victorious 210-248. Blanc continued her big week with a tie for the team low 40 with York. Stewart was right behind them at 41. Christiansen (43) and Denning (46) capped off the day for Oakdale.

The Lady Mustangs traveled to Lathrop on Tuesday, Oct. 3 following The Leader’s press time. Oakdale returns to their home course at Oakdale Golf and Country Club on Thursday, Oct. 5 when they take on Sierra. Tee time is set for 3 p.m.
