Two Oakdale cross country hopefuls entered Willow Hill, Folsom on Saturday afternoon for the 2015-2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Cross Country finals. OHS junior Kristin Aguilar and sophomore Daniel Prado competed for their opportunity to continue on to the State Finals. During the 5K run, Aguilar finished in 43rd place with a time of 22:03.

“Competing in her first Section Final, Kristin did an amazing job. This course has a lot of challenges and she handled them well,” said coach Guy Fowler. “Kristin finished off the season on a good note and we are proud of her accomplishments this year. Hopefully, she will carry the things she learned this year into her senior year.”

Oakdale’s lone boy competitor, Prado, finished 48th overall with a time of 18:33. He competed for the boys freshman Section Championship team last year and returned to Folsom again this season.

“Daniel competed in his second Section Final, he last ran on the Section Championship Freshman team, but (this was) his first as a varsity runner. This was all about learning for Daniel against the best varsity runners in our division. He handled his own and did very well,” Fowler noted.
