A pair of road games for the Oakdale High School girls tennis team resulted in a pair of difficult losses for the Lady Mustangs.

Lijian Bacud and Mackenzie Brown earned wins for Oakdale. Bacud won 6-1, 6-4; and Brown earned her victory in a three set thriller.
On Thursday, Oct. 4 the girls went to Manteca to face Sierra. In a competitive outing, Oakdale fell short 5-4 to the Timberwolves. In doubles action Tanna Borba and Katelyn Signorelli earned a team win over their opponents and the team of Savanna Gustafson took three sets but came out on top with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win.
“It was a tough week for wins but it is pretty neat to see the way the girls are hanging in there,” said head coach Grant Miller. “It would be easy to mail it in, but these young women are working hard and getting better each day.”
Oakdale has two games left in the regular season and both are at home. On Tuesday, Oct. 9, following The Leader’s press time Oakdale was scheduled to host Manteca and on Thursday, Oct. 11 Oakdale hosts Weston Ranch in their regular season finale.
