Lady Golfers Tame Jaguars

The Oakdale High School girls golf team traveled to Van Buskirk Golf Course recently for the Valley Oak League Tournament. However, only Oakdale and Kimball participated in the 18-hole tournament. The Lady Mustangs and Jaguars teed off in Stockton for the event and it was Oakdale who headed home as winners. Oakdale shot 424 as a team, as Kimball finished with a 503 score.

Andrea York led the team through 18 holes as she shot 81 on the day. Both Makayla Christensen and Shealyn Hanrahan shot 85 for Oakdale. Tori Blanc was one stroke behind the duo as she fired an 86. Allie Denning turned in an 87 and rounding out the day for Oakdale was Lynn Layton, who shot an 89.

Following the tournament, Oakdale is now 7-0 on the year and will be off until Tuesday, Sept. 25. That day they will head to Tracy Golf Course and Country Club for another Valley Oak League tournament competition. The following day Oakdale will host Kimball in a one-on-one match. The showdown takes place at Oakdale Golf and Country Club and is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
