Junior Varsity, Freshman Football Teams Victorious

The junior varsity team found success against Woodcreek in a non-conference game Friday night, Oct. 12, taking a 32-15 victory off the field. Oakdale quarterback Jackson Holt tossed two first quarter touchdown passes to help lead the Mustang Colts to victory. Zachary Aloisio burned the Woodcreek secondary for an 86-yard catch and run in the first quarter and also came up with an interception on the defensive side of the ball.

Donovan Walker found the end zone twice for Oakdale as he scored from 10 and 75 yards out. Rylan Kerr also found the end zone on a one-yard rush in the fourth quarter.

After 11 weeks of action, Oakdale now heads into their bye week. The JV team wraps up their season at home against Central Catholic on Friday, Oct. 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.

 

FRESHMEN

The freshman football program continues to impress this season and earned a hard fought road win over Kimball. The two unbeaten Valley Oak League teams met up in Tracy on Thursday night, Oct. 11. Oakdale erased a 33-21 deficit in the third quarter to come back to win 56-40.

Oakdale was paced by running backs Jose Torres, who carried the ball 21 times for 281 yards and scored five touchdowns and backfield mate Yahir Ayala, who carried the ball 14 times for a total of 263 yards and scored three touchdowns. Oakdale’s defense made plays when needed including interceptions by Jake Kettering and Titan Ginger.

Oakdale plays host to Jesuit on Thursday night inside The Corral with a kickoff time of 5:30 p.m. This will be the team’s final home game before closing out the season against Central Catholic on Thursday, Oct. 25.
