Oakdale High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams took the court this past week and came away with victories.

For the girls, it was a sweep over Weston Ranch. They picked up a convincing 63-32 road win Thursday night against the Cougars behind Alicia Platt’s game high 15 points. Amber Robinson also scored in double digits as she put up 10 points. Elizabeth Webb scored eight points in the win for Oakdale. Friday night the girls completed the two-game series sweep with a 59-30 win. Eight different Mustangs scored in the victory. Platt scored a dozen points and Aiden Hill added 11 for Oakdale. Trying to keep the momentum going from their successful week, the varsity girls host Ripon on Friday night at 7 p.m. and have a Saturday home game against Central Catholic scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

The Oakdale boys hosted Saint Mary’s on Wednesday night and fell to the Stockton team 64-38. Jonah Norman scored a team high 16 points in the home loss. Oakdale did not carry that loss with them for too long as they bounced back with a 70-23 road win over Delhi on Saturday afternoon. The non-conference game saw Johnathan Kraude score a game high 20 points. Norman and Tanner Cusano each scored 13 points for the Mustangs. Oakdale led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter and held the Hawks to just 13 total points the rest of the way. This week Oakdale will play three straight days. Thursday night the boys welcome in Ripon. Friday the boys travel to Ripon to finish the two-game series. Tipoff for both games is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday evening the boys welcome in Central Catholic with a 5:30 p.m. start time.
