It was the first 18-hole Valley Oak League tournament of the season this past week. All six Valley Oak League schools participated in the tournament that was held in Manteca on March 20. The Oakdale Mustangs took first place with a team score of 401. Central Catholic came in second with a score of 475.
Freshman Estuardo Duque paced the Mustangs with a one-under-par 71 at the par 72 Manteca Park Golf Course. Reigning two-time league MVP Nolan Harris chipped in with a 75 which included a handful of birdies on the day.
Other Mustangs who participated were Robert Borba (83), Owen Hauselman (85) and Easton Thalman (87).
Taking third place was Sierra (493); fourth place went to Kimball (502). Finishing in fifth place was East Union (513) and Manteca rounded out the six competing schools.
Oakdale returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 for VOL #2. Central Catholic will host the event at Creekside Golf Course.
