Girls Take First, Boys Tie For Second At Track, Field Meet

The 2021 Stanislaus County Meet for track and field took place on Friday, May 7 and the Oakdale High School teams showed that they are among the elite in the county. The varsity girls team placed first overall scoring 141 points, second place Turlock finished with 117. Oakdale’s varsity boys tied for second overall with Turlock at 71 points. Pitman ran away with the first-place finish with 120 points. Here is a glance at how some of the athletes placed in their events.

 

GIRLS:

100 Meters: Julianna Forkner fifth place 13.81; Kylee O’Neal seventh place 14.01.

200 Meters: Kylie Nunes second place 27.22; Julianna Forkner third place 28.40.

1600 Meters: Haleigh Humble first place 5:09.39 (Meet Record, OHS Record); Kassidy Fmura seventh place 5:45.23.

3200 Meters: Kassidy Fmura third place 12:44.02.

100 Meter Hurdles: Kylie Nunes second place 17.18; Sierra Hartwig fifth place 18.08; Presley Barnes sixth place 18.25.

300 Meter Hurdles: Presley Barnes second place 53.26; Sierra Hartwig third place 54.15.

4X100 Meter Relay: Oakdale second place 51.64.

Shot Put: Emma Harper first place 42-00.50; Jessica Jericoff second place 34-07.50; Hayden Morton seventh place 29-10.

Discus: Emma Harper first place 138; Jessica Jericoff second place 122-01; Hayden Morton third place 90-06.

High Jump: Tayler Lamb tied for first place 4-08.00; Taylor Kay and Kaylinn Cavanaugh tied for second 4-04.00; Bailey Housley third place 4-02.00.

Triple Jump: Kylie Nunes first place 34-10.75.

 

BOYS:

100 Meters: Dion Suarez second place 11.58; Jace Rau third place 11.61. Kevin Camelin ninth place 11.85.

200 Meters: Kevin Camelin third place 23.92.

1600 Meters: Caleb Cavanaugh second place 4:24.37 (OHS record); Dominic Robles fourth place 4:28.51; Dax Daley fifth place 4:32.07; Simon Appel eighth place 4:38.88.

3200 Meters: Caleb Cavanaugh first place 9:47.19; Dominic Robles second place 9:47.73; Dax Daley third place 9:52.83; Simon Appel fifth place 10:00.07; Nathan Luca ninth place 10:38.71.

Pole Vault: Dean Dodge tied for second place 13-06.00.
