Girl Golfers Take First At Yellowjacket Invite

The Oakdale High School girls golf team earned a first place finish at the 2019 Yellowjacket Invitational. The 18-hole tournament was played at Patterson’s Diablo Grande. As a team the Mustangs scored 321; Ripon came in second with a score of 333. Makayla Christiansen shot a 79 and placed fifth overall and medaled in the tournament. Kaylie Parola was one stroke behind at 80. Placing seventh overall in the tournament was Madison Blanc at 81 and Tori Blanc also finished with an 81. Shealyn Hanrahan shot an 88 to place 16th overall. There were over 70 golfers in the tournament and 13 teams.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10 the team hosted Sierra at Oakdale Golf and Country Club where they defeated the Timberwolves 202-318. Leading the way for Oakdale were Andrea York and Madi Blanc as each shot 39 through nine holes. Parola shot 40, Tori Blanc 41, Allie Denning 43 and Hanrahan finished with a 46.

Wednesday, Sept. 18 the team will head to Manteca for the Valley Oak League #1 tournament. It will be an 18-hole tournament featuring teams from the Valley Oak League.
